I believe that the glass is original but am not totally sure. This came from an older home in Alameda. There is differences in the patina that will likely only be visible from the top of the fixture, please see photos. I've left it unpolished so that buyer can make their own decision about whether they enjoy the patina or would like a shinier look. There are some small dark scuffs on the outside of the glass, also not terribly conspicuous when one would look at it from a distance. I chose to leave them rather than risk damaging the texture of the glass.
