This ethereal Florentine cameo art glass vase in a wildly popular and current emerald green satin finish dates to the late 1800s or early 1900s. The glass is acid etched to achieve a matte effect, and the enamel paint, in a floral pattern, was applied by hand. Florentine cameo vases, mostly made in Florence, Italy, were made as less expensive alternatives to cameo vases coming out of England. While cameo vases command generally higher prices, Florentine cameo vases have their own fan base and remain highly collectible today as well.
