Fulfill your dark academia bookcase dreams with this antique barrister's bookcase. If only furniture could talk! The most recent owner of this bookcase was a Chinese herablist and used the bookshelf to store their herbs. Barristers' or lawyers' bookcases were made so that when attorney's were trying cases in different counties they could easily transport their law library with them. Thus, each shelf is it's own section that stacks neatly and easily on top of the other. And, each shelf is complete with a door that lifts up and slides backwards into the top of each shelf, thus keeping the contents of each shelf from getting nearly as much dust on them. The end result is both functional and aesthetically pleasing. And as an added bonus of construction, the doors on this bookcase are attached to the shelf section with telescoping mechanism. Some of these bookcases have doors that are not as well attached, so it's a lovely added bonus that help keep the doors from falling out if you need to move the sections.
